About Me

A little something about me.

Raised in Oregon, Illinois, Julie received her Practical Nursing license in 1984 and obtained her Registered Nurse license in 1990.  Julie worked at Singer Mental Health for 11 years in the role of nurse and as a Program Coordinator working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
 
     Julie became intrigued with the mind, body and spirit connection of medicine and returned to college with a focus on mental health.  She completed an internship at Rockford Memorial Hospital ATEP and Neonatal Intensive Care while attending Rockford College, and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
 
     She attended the University of Illinois and completed her social work internship at Family Counseling Services of Northern Illinois providing therapy for individuals, couples, families, and individuals with both diabetes and depression at Crusader Clinic.  Julie obtained a Master of Social Work degree with an emphasis on Mental Health in 2002.
 
Julie worked with KP Counseling for two years providing psychotherapy to individuals as well as facilitating group psychotherapy and then spent one year working with Dr. Marianne Geiger providing Crisis Management, Medication Management as well as providing psychotherapy to individuals as well as facilitating group psychotherapy.

Julie currently provides Psychotherapy for individuals, couples, families as well as group psychotherapy.
